We sat down with Jason Weaver, one of our managing partners, and he shared more about himself, his passion behind financial advising and trends he is currently seeing. Jason currently lives in Huntington Beach, along with his wife (Shannon), two children (Colin & Haley), and their two dogs (Frankie & Remi). Jason was recognized for the fourth year in a row on the Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors for 2022.
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
A: I love to see clients reach goals that we set and started funding 10+ years ago.
Q: Why do you like working at Weaver Consulting Group?
A: Being independent affords us the ability to put the client’s interest first in all of our advice.
Q: What is your background?
A: I have been an advisor for all of my working years. I spent 20 years developing a practice at Ameriprise Financial Advisors. In 2015, my brother Travis Weaver and I, made the decision to create our own firm, Weaver Consulting Group. We realized that advice is everywhere, but what clients want is to work with a consultant that offers unbiased and personalized advice from someone who truly cares about them and their family.
Q: What trends are you seeing in retirement planning right now?
A: We are seeing CA clients selling their primary homes and relocating into other states with more favorable state income taxes.
Q: Do you see a lot of people switching advisors?
A: We are seeing an uptick in organic inquiries from prospective clients looking for a more comprehensive relationship with their advisor.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I like to play competitive sports. Tennis is currently my favorite. My wife and I also participate in a local pickle ball league.
Q: What is one goal you have for your clients?
A: To develop a financial plan to one day have peace of mind.
