We sat down with our advisor Hunter Peterson, who shared more about himself, involvement in the community and why he loves his job. Hunter joined Weaver Consulting Group in 2017. He started his career at Vanguard and quickly realized that financial advice is more than just helping make investment decisions. It is about educating, building relationships, and helping people through transitions.
Q: What is your background?
A: I grew up in Arizona and went to Chapman University. After college, I started my career at Vanguard in Scottsdale. I worked there for about a year and half before realizing that I wanted to join a smaller firm where I can build long lasting relationships with clients. While I was in California interviewing for another financial advisor job, a good friend of mine recommended that I meet with Jason and Travis. I joined Weaver Consulting Group shortly after that conversation.
Q: What are you involved in outside of work?
A: I am very involved in the Huntington Beach community, through the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach. The Kiwanis club primary mission is to help serve the children in the community. We do several events for kids throughout the year. Our next event is a 4th of July pancake breakfast at Lake Park in Huntington Beach. I also like to stay involved in my alma mater’s alumni events. I played football at Chapman University and am currently coordinating our football alumni golf tournament. Currently, I play basketball on Monday nights with a group of friends in an adult league.
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
A: I love helping clients meet their goals and be a part of their life transitions. Whether it is helping someone retiring, buying a home, funding a child’s college, or helping with charitable initiatives.
Q: Why do you like working at Weaver Consulting Group?
A: I like working with our clients and our team. It is truly a family atmosphere that is unique to this industry. In my opinion, we also have the best office location in the city.
