Our Insights

My name is Palmer Mahoney. I I was born and raised in Denver and joined Weaver Consulting Group this past April. It’s a privilege to be part of such a high-performing team and to serve the people who make this business possible — you, our clients. I didn’t always know I wanted to be an advisor. In high school, I went from struggling at the bottom of my class to graduating near the top. That journey that taught me success isn’t about being the smartest in the room, but the most driven. That drive led me into entrepreneurship, from running small summer businesses to reading everything I could about money.

At the University of Oregon, I studied Business with a focus in Finance and took nearly every finance course available. I opened my first credit card, started a Roth IRA, and even tried day trading, but it was the real conversations, helping friends manage debt, running my own budget, and watching my family make big financial decisions that sparked something deeper. I realized money is emotional, tied to our goals, fears, and sense of control over the future. The key to gaining control is removing that emotion and approaching decisions with clarity and objectivity. This ultimately led me to Weaver Consulting Group.

I bring a fresh perspective, a passion for exploring AI in wealth management, and a focus on improving efficiency and solving problems from new angles. If we haven’t met yet, I’d love to change that. My office is the first on the left. Please stop by and say hello.

I didn’t grow up with much, and learned early on to rely on myself. I was raised by a single mom in Chula Vista, and by 13 we had moved to Huntington Beach (my 9th school). The constant change taught me to adapt, connect easily, and figure things out on my own. I started working at 15 to cover my own basic needs, and by senior year of high school, I had moved out. I barely graduated, serving 78 hours of detention in three weeks just to walk with my class. A moment that proved I could overcome any odds. I went straight into full-time work after graduation, which taught me resilience, self-reliance, and drive.

My curiosity about life came from my grandpa, who would drive us to stand under distant rain clouds. That sense of wonder grew into a passion for travel. In 2010, I took my first international trip; 18 days in Bali and Thailand with nothing but a backpack. I stayed in $2 jungle cabins, took 17-hour bus rides, and sought out internet cafés to connect home. Traveling this way became my education, teaching me perspective, patience, creativity, and how to thrive with very little. Since then, I’ve visited over 30 countries. Those experiences shaped how I see people, problems, and possibility.

I joined Weaver Consulting Group in 2008 and have worn nearly every hat since. Now, as COO, I focus on building relationships, listening closely, and creating thoughtful strategies that strengthen our team and client experience. Along the way, I’ve been lucky to find amazing friends, mentors, and colleagues who believed in me. Today, I have a family I adore, a home I’m proud of, and a deep belief in living life fully. My purpose now is to pass that same curiosity, courage, and love for the world to my children.

I’m Kaylyn, and I’ve been part of the Weaver Consulting Group team since 2018. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA, and later moved to Southern California to attend Whittier College, where I earned my degree in Psychology. The first in my family to graduate college. I initially thought I wanted to be a marriage counselor, but I realized it wouldn’t be the best path for my own mental health. Instead, I found a different way to celebrate love and connection by planning weddings! I worked as an event planner for three years before joining Weaver. It was as rewarding as it was exhausting, and while I eventually transitioned into a new chapter, I still help with friends’ and family weddings on the side. I absolutely love celebrating couples. I even joke with my husband that I can’t wait to plan our “next wedding,” a vow renewal someday, just to relive that day over again.

At Weaver, I channel that same love of connection and support into my work behind the scenes by managing workflows, coordinating projects, and helping our clients with their day-to-day needs. It’s fulfilling to know that all the little things I do help the team focus on what they do best. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Jade (10) and Ari (3). They are both Border Collie mixes, and are too smart for their own good. Soon, our first child will join the pack. We are expecting our baby girl this October!

Becoming a parent feels like the start of a new adventure, and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to create the loving, stable home I didn’t always have growing up. In many ways, preparing for parenthood reminds me of the work we do here: planning ahead, nurturing growth, and building a strong foundation for the future. Just as I strive to support our clients with dedication and heart, I can’t wait to pour even more love and intention into my own family. This next chapter feels like a beautiful extension of the care and connection I’m privileged to be a part of every day at Weaver.
